Some Information About Me

Betty Walker, the "Wise Web Lady"

Hi there, and thanks for stopping by - I'd like to take this time to tell you more about myself, and give you a chance to get to know me better. It's always easier to work with someone when you feel you know them personally.

Anytime I unsubscribe from someone's email list, it is usually for one of two reasons - either I don't like what they are trying to sell to me, or I don't know if I can trust what they are saying. I've worked hard to be sure that any information I share with you has meaning and purpose and is something that you can benefit from in your business. And I want you to know that I consider it an honor and an obligation to share what I know with you to help you be more sucessful.

Here's My Story

 

After many years in the corporate IT sector, I started my own web development company in 2001. My reputation grew as a custom web programmer and I soon had plenty of work and many referred leads and prospects coming my way. My senior management experience in the corporate world gave me more than just technical skills, it also gave me the ability to think from a business perspective.

My clients looked to me as a sound technical advisor, and my business success reflected that. Life was good!

 
Fast forward eight years to 2009... The economy had taken a tough turn.

Many clients were faced with hard finanical problems, and some even went out of business. Most were scrambling for ways to keep their head above water and were struggling to keep their businesses going.

As their trusted web advisor, they came to me for help. They were shifting their thoughts away from custom web programming and looking for more affordable ways to bring in more clients, more sales, and cut costs.

I Listened to the Needs of My Clients

 

So in addition to my website design, web programming and SEO work that I already provided, I started adding more do-it-yourself and how-to products. I listened to the needs of my clients and other small businesses to discover processes and products that would truly help them succeed during these lean, hard times. And, I continue to find good services and develop my own products and share them with my clients and subscribers every day.

I also had to look for new ways to get my products into the hands of the small business owners that I knew needed them. And I knew to do that, I would have to find more structured ways to market and sell my offerings. Referrals and word-of-mouth would not be enough.

But, I also knew that I didn't see myself as a salesperson, and I didn't want to hard-sell either. No one hates pushy salespeople more than me.

So I started looking for ways to "soft-sell" my way to success. I developed my own info products outlining ways that I found that have worked for me - no pushy sales tactics, no under-handed deception tactics. Just straightforward, upfront ways of sharing products and information that work.

I take my commitment to my clients and subscribers very seriously.

I feel it is my obligation to share with them ways they can succeed. And in return, my clients rely on me to let them know what is available to truly help them. And that's a responsibility that I take very seriously - to help and share useful information in any way I can.
