Anytime you go into Google and type in a word or phrase in the search box, Google takes note. Google considers that a keyword or keyphrase.

The Adwords Keyword Tool tracks each of those words and phrases. It’s obviously beneficial to use those keywords and phrases that are frequently searched for within your blog. Having great content that meets the needs of the reader is not enough if people are unable to find your blog.

Not only is it necessary to optimize your website for keywords, it is important to optimize your blog as well. Optimizing your blog allows your target audience to locate you with greater ease because of the increase in your search engine ranking.

Your first task is obviously finding out which keywords and phrases you should be optimizing your blog with through the Adwords Keyword Tool.

There are a few beneficial ways to utilize this tool.

Firstly, it can aid in giving you a few good ideas as to what words and phrases would be beneficial to include in your blog. Once you enter a word or phrase into the adword search, you will want to pay close attention to those phrases and words with the least amount of competition.

Secondly, this tool has the ability to analyze your content and report back on the findings. Again, you can wisely choose the words with the most potential to driving your target clients to your blog.

There is no need to cram your blog with nothing but the keywords. Generally speaking if you make certain to include your keywords in your first and last paragraph it will aid in your Google search engine ranking. Additionally it is wise to use your keywords in your title as well.

If you take the time to write the blog, then take the time to search Google’s Adwords Keyword Tool and get your blog noticed.

The Most Important Element to a Good Website

July 21st, 2010 - by BAWalker

When you begin surfing the internet, searching for website answers, you will likely begin to detect a pattern of what web designers have been saying all along on what the single most important element is to a “good” website. “Good” translating to a profitable and frequently visited site.

You will notice the general consensus is one very simple element within your control and not necessarily one requiring technologically advanced web building skills.

That one key element is simply this. Fresh, ongoing, new content.

By providing compelling content you are creating something of value. In this information age, people are on the internet searching for useful, interesting and most importantly up-to date information.

One key to keep in mind is to create content that is in-tune with your target audience or client. That will play an important factor on how successful your business is on the web. The more useful your information, the more highly regarded you will be viewed in your area of expertise.

By increasing this image of credibility and creating value for your audience you increase the likelihood of people returning to your website for your information, product, and services.

Ask yourself the following questions:

  •  If I were a client, or target audience, would I find my website beneficial?
  • Is my information relevant and up-to date?
  • Does my content come across as credible and authoritative establishing myself as an expert in my field?
  • How frequently do I update my website?

Today’s immediate gratification mindset doesn’t give you much time to retain people searching the internet. Your content has to be useful and dynamic enough to hold the reader’s attention.

Most novice site builders are so concerned about the style of the website they fundamentally overlook the incredible importance of the content.

So, when you are creating your website concentrating on primarily design, remember, for your website success, it has to be more than just a pretty face.

Why Use the Internet for Your Business?

July 13th, 2010 - by BAWalker

“In the business world, there really is no need for an online presence…”

That statement is only true if you don’t want your business to expand, you’d rather not have more clients and you really could care less if you increased your sales.

Is that what you really want? I didn’t think so.

According to Nielsen there are over 875 million online shoppers and 78% of those are actively looking to make a purchase. So it is safe to say, if you do not have an internet presence you are missing out on the greatest potential available to you, literally at your fingertips.

So here it is, THE main reason you need to utilize the internet for your business; the unlimited amount of people who can reach you and in turn, you reach them. By using the internet, the sky is the limit for your business.

Like all things, however, you have to have a strong foundation and build from there. The foundation you need to have in place, and this may come as a shocker, is a website. Once you establish an effective, professional website then everything you do on the internet from there should always draw people back to your website and therefore the potential for profit.

Then you can expand from there, limited only by your imagination. Submit articles for online publishing. Create a blog and consistently bring useful information and create a following. Utilize social media to build strong relationships. All of which creates word of mouth through saturating your target market effectively branding your company, its products, and/or its services.

One word of caution though.

Just having any old website online for your business won’t necessarily bring in the dollars.

There is a lot to making a website fully effective. In future blogs we will discuss some of the “must haves” for your website. I also have other amazing resources available if you really want to learn profitable ways to use the internet, expand your business, bring in more clients and increase your sales.

That is after all, what all of this is about.
